Painted cardboard tipi – street art Barcelona

Who is behind Art Is Trash?

Behind the name Art Is Trash stands Francisco de Pájaro, a street artist working in Barcelona – this video was published on 2026-07-12. Since 2009 he has turned rubbish left on the pavement – boxes, bags, mattresses, old furniture – into wild, comic figures painted on the spot. Beyond Barcelona, his trash art has also appeared in cities such as London and New York. That makes every figure a one-off: once the street is cleaned, it is gone, and often only videos like this one remain.
