Eyes painted on a wooden chair – urban art Barcelona

Who is behind Art Is Trash?

This clip from 2026-04-25 shows a street piece by Art Is Trash, the project of Barcelona-based artist Francisco de Pájaro. Since 2009 he has turned rubbish left on the pavement – boxes, bags, mattresses, old furniture – into wild, comic figures painted on the spot. His figures poke fun at throwaway culture, power and the established art world. That makes every figure a one-off: once the street is cleaned, it is gone, and often only videos like this one remain.
